Hedge Fund Trade of the Week: Broadridge Financial

Where’s the fast money finding opportunity? In this regular feature Anthony Scaramucci aka The Hedge reveals his latest greatest pick!

This week’s trade is Broadridge Financial, a provider of technology solutions to the financial services industry. Its systems and services include investor communication solutions, and securities processing and operations outsourcing solutions

Check out some of the company’s stats:

Broadridge Financial (BR)
Sector: Financial
Industry: Financial Services
Based in Lake Success, NY
Market Cap: $2.6 billion
52-week high: $24.02
52-week low: $18.51

Scaramucci selected this stock as his hedge fund trade of the week as a value play.

”It’s a cheap stock with a 2.7% dividend yield,” he says, with value hedgies such as Omega and Greenlight in this name.

But this trade is pegged to more than an attractive price; according to Scaramucci, Broadridge doesn’t have a lot of rivals. He tells the desk, “The company has a near-monopoly in the proxy business and in the facilitation of what companies need to do to get shareholder votes done."

As a result he speculates that, “someone will realize their value, either management or private equity.”

In other words he also sees this stock as a bet on a buy back or a takeout.
