CEO Extra: AOL's Tim Armstrong & Arianna Huffington

AOL CEO Tim Armstrong and The Huffington Post Co-Founder Arianna Huffington today spoke to the Fast Money Halftime Report in a First On CNBC interview.

We continued the conversation after the show.

How will The Huffington Post's brand will change under AOL? According to Arianna Huffington, "...it's the same except on rocket fuel. It's like getting off a fast passenger train and getting onto a supersonic jet.

All the things we are talking about doing, expanding our local coverage, our global coverage, doubling down on video, are things that AOL has already invested a lot in. So it will make it possible to do all that at a dramatically accelerated speed, and at the same time bring a great sense of community to everything we're doing."

AOL CEO Tim Armstrong said: "I couldn't be more happy with this acquisition and as I say on earnings calls, if investors don't believe in the strategy we're not the right option for you as an investor, but if you believe the Internet's going to be powerful, if you believe content's going to be powerful, and if you believe billions of dollars, tens of billions of dollars, are going to follow consumers to the digital platforms, we are absolutely the right investment for you."
