POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
NYSE Euronext (NYX) popped 3%. Published reports suggested a bidding war could be brewing, with Nasdaq OMX looking to best Deutsche Boerse in its bid to acquire this exchange. - It's worth watching, says Pete Najarian.
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
Toll Brothers (TOL) dropped 3%. Stifel Nicolaus downgraded the stock to ‘Sell from ‘Hold’ citing a long wait until new home sales pick up substantially. - I'm not a buyer of housing either, says Stephen Weiss.
Las Vegas Sands (LVS) dropped 4%. Jefferies downgraded the stock to ‘Hold’ from ‘Buy’ citing an SEC investigations into the company’s operations. - Around $36 I think valuations become compelling, says Guy Adami.
Tiffany (TIF) dropped 5%. Perhaps investors were spooked by published reports which said, as of 2009, Japan accounted for 19% of Tiffany’s net sales. - As Japan recovers, it should benefit Tiffany, says JJ Kinahan.
