The current "CBS Evening News" anchor and former "Today" host was interviewed Wednesday by her former work partner, Matt Lauer, about a book she's just published and the questions about her future. Her CBS contract expires in June.

Pressed by Lauer, Couric says she remains uncertain about what she will do. She outlined the attractiveness of one possibility: hosting a syndicated talk show. She said such a program would touch on health and social issues and politics and give her freedom to dig into subjects.

Said Couric: "It might be nice to have a little more wiggle room for me to show a little more personality."
