Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Carmax and Hain Celestial popped while Adobe Systems and Lorillard dropped.
POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
Carmax (KMX) popped 8%. The used car seller benefited as customers stayed away from splurging on new cars in a slow-recovering economy. - I'd fade around $34, says Guy Adami.
AeroVironment (AVAV) popped 21%. Jefferies increased its price target from $24 to $28 saying it trades at a premium to rivals due to attractive long-term growth potential. - I would be careful at these levels, says Tim Seymour.
Jabil Circuit (JBL) popped 5%. The company reported earnings that doubled from a year ago and also announced the buyback of $200 million of stock. - I'd want to see the stock close above $19.98, the 50-day, before I become a buyer, says Brian Stutland.
Cheniere (LNG) popped 7%. With growing calls for the US to export nat gas, the Department of Energy approved a proposal by Cheniere Energy to turn its little-used liquified natural gas import terminal on the Louisiana coast into an export terminal. - I like the story, says Karen Finerman.
Hain Celestial (HAIN) popped 2%. The company told CNBC that its products were attracting a lot of attention from sellers ranging from Costco, Walmart, Kroger and Amazon.
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
Adobe Systems (ADBE) dropped 5%. The company said second-quarter sales in Europe were $10 million to $15 million less than it had anticipated primarily because customers in Scandinavia and the U.K. held back purchases. - I'm a buyer ahead of the next creative suite, says Joe Terranova.
Lorillard (LO) dropped 2%. In its latest anti-smoking efforts, the FDA said it will begin requiring tobacco marketers to cover the top half of cigarette boxes and 20% of tobacco advertisements with nine bluntly graphic anti-smoking images. The move likely reminded investors the FDA also want to ban menthol cigarettes, which make up about 90 percent of sales for Lorillard. - The company is buying back so many shares it could go private, says Brian Kelly. I'm a buyer.
