Will S&P Find Floor at 1316?

Like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and for the bulls, they did.

After a strong rally early in the month, by the close of Monday’s session the S&P had posted a sharp loss and erased almost all gains for the month of July.

Is the stock market about to wipe out gains from late June as well or will stocks find support?

Where to now?

Trader Guy Adami and trader JJ Kinahan suggest watching what happens at 1316 very closely – that’s both the 50-day and 100-day.

Both traders expect it to hold.

"I think we break those levels," counters BofA’s MaryAnn Bartels. ”The S&P could pull back to 1300 or even 1295 until things settle down in Europe,” Bartels says in a live interview.

However, she thinks any pullback in the S&P will be temporary and presents a buying opportunity.

Bartels adds that transports broke out to an all time high last week and since 2009 transports have been a good leading indicator.

And to confirm her thesis, Bartels adds that "looking at the internals in the market last week we had good volume and and break out in breadth. So looking at the US market in isolation, any pull back should be temporary."
