Pro: Results from Wynn Provide a Read-Thru for 'This' Stock

In extended trade the Fast gang parsed through results from Mosaic and Wynn looking for opportunity.

Here's what's caught their eye.

--------------

MOSAIC

"They knocked the cover off the ball," says Brian Kelly. "This is a name I’m long."

Mosaic showed quarterly profit jumped 64 percent as prices spiked and demand continued to grow globally.

By the numbers, net income for the fiscal fourth quarter rose to $649.2 million, or $1.45 per share, compared with $396.1 million, or 89 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

Revenue rose 54 percent to $2.86 billion. Analysts expected $2.59 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. Shares of Mosaic rose 1 percent to $67.10 in after-hours trading.

WYNN

”It looks like it has a little more upside,” says trader Guy Adami, after Wynn moved higher in the aftermarket after posting stronger than expected earnings.

However, with Wynn trading near 52-week highs, he also says the better trade is probably long rival Las Vegas Sands ahead of their earnings report, “as a read through from Wynn”.

After the bell Wynn posted second-quarter profit and revenue that handily topped Wall Street estimates as revenue at its Wynn Macau unit soared 36.7 percent and business in Las Vegas improved.

Driven by robust demand from Macau -- the only place in China where gambling is legal -- Wynn profits surged 52 percent in June from a year earlier, according to the government.

Adjusting for one-time items, Wynn earned $200.8 million, or $1.60 per share, beating the average analyst forecast of $1.02 per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

In the same period last year, Wynn earned $64.9 million, or 52 cents per share.

Wynn operates two casino-resorts in Las Vegas and two in Macau, where it is poised to begin construction on a third property, pending final government clearance.

Quarterly net revenue rose 32.4 percent to $1.37 billion from $1.03 billion last year. Analysts had expected $1.27 billion.
