Lights, Camera, Action!

I’d like to take a moment to talk about some of the events that took place last week at Fisher College of Business. On Wednesday morning our team had an opportunity to work with a CNBC camera crew to film a team meeting and conduct a live broadcast, while also being interviewed by another crew for the TV show Ohio Means Business. While that provided a great experience, the excitement was only beginning!

Wednesday afternoon kicked off the launch of the new National Center for the Middle Market, a research center created through a partnership between Fisher and GE Capital . To start things off right, students were given the opportunity to participate in a private Q&A session with GE Capital CEO, Michael Neal, and GE CEO, Jeffrey Immelt. This was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and a dinner that included distinguished guest speaker General Stanley McChrystal.

The festivities continued into Thursday as CNBC broadcasted the National Middle Market Summit from The Ohio State University’s Student Union. Speakers included Jeffrey Immelt, Roger Penske, Fred Smith of FedEx, Governor John Kasich, Marc Benioff of Salesfoce.com, and Christine Poon, Dean of Fisher.

As if this were not enough for one week, Bob McDonald, CEO of P&G , spoke at Fisher on Friday afternoon.

Market analysis… we’re conservative.
