2011 Top S&P Stocks: No. 18 Goodrich

Goodrich stock accelerated to a 39 percent year-to-date increase, making it No. 18 in the 2011 top S&P stocks countdown.

The stock traded in the $122 range Wednesday, near its 52-week high of $123.54. Its low within the same period was $79.71, with EPS of $5.63.

But trader Steve Cortes liked another stock better.

“If you want to be involved in automotive, I would much rather play Autozone,” he said. “I think the trend lately has been, instead of going and buying new cars, it’s been, put the car on cinder blocks, get a case of Bud and fix the old one. Those folks are going to Autozone.”
