Top Ten Luxurious Ski Homes
Some people avoid winter, either by living in warmer climes or fleeing when winter looms. Others embrace it and head for the hills to strap on the skis or snowboards. These people need places to unwind after a day of romping in the powder.
The editors at TopTenRealEstateDeals.com put together a list of some prime ski homes, all of them for sale. The houses typically reflect a love for the outdoors, often featuring walls of windows, rustic beams and stone fireplaces. They’re all great for groups and have entertainment for cozy après-ski times, like game rooms and hot tubs and theaters. But that doesn’t mean they’re all the same.
This tour of fabulous ski homes jumps around from New York to Colorado, to Montana and Utah. Although they don’t vary too greatly in styles, there are at least two distinct varieties: as the editors from TopTenRealEstateDeals put it:
“Excite your deepest remaining primal urge to be surrounded by logs, natural stone, fire and invisible walls of glass through which your view of alpine woods and mountain peaks are seamless. Or maybe you would prefer the pleasure of sleek contemporary with wood, stone, glass and fire portrayed in crisp cool lines; ideal to show off your Wassily chairs and your authentic Noguchi table.”
Click on to see these luxurious mansions, ranked from the least expensive to the most, many which are ski-in/ski-out and have ski locker rooms to prep for the slopes, and one that used to belong to an iconic fashion model from the early 1980s.
