Delta Air Lines and US Airways each launched new service in 11 markets resulting from their government-approved takeoff and landing slot swaps at New York's LaGuardia and Washington's Reagan National airports.

Passengers check in for Delta Air Lines
new flights from LaGuardia (LGA) build on their already strong international presence out of nearby JFK airport and solidify the carrier's ambition to, "create a domestic hub in the busiest aviation market in the world," according to a statement.
The new cities served from LGA are Buffalo, N.Y.; Burlington, Vt.; Dallas, Texas; Greensboro, N.C.; Manchester, N.H.; Miami, Fla.; Norfolk, Va.; Richmond, Va.; Rochester, N.Y.; Syracuse, N.Y. and Washington's Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

Delta is investing $160 million at LaGuardia to modernize two terminals and will begin new service to additional cities this summer.
US Airways began nonstop service from Washington's Reagan National airport (DCA) to Birmingham, Ala.; Fayetteville, N.C.; Islip, N.Y.; Little Rock, Ark.; Jacksonville, N.C.; Memphis, Tenn.; Omaha, Neb.; Ottawa, Ontario; Pensacola, Fla.; Tallahassee, Fla. and Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
The airline will add service to six additional communities from DCA this summer, including the only nonstop from the District's downtown airport to San Diego.
