All Star Investor: Donald Yacktman Reveals Top Picks

All day on Wednesday, CNBC spoke with “All Star Investors”, the very best stock pickers with returns that reflect their success.

On Halftime, five-star fund manager Don Yacktman, President Of Yacktman Asset Management, revealed some of his best ideas.

“This is a market in which investors should stay with high quality names," says Yacktman. "That’s where I think the best risk-adjusted forward returns are.” His favorite ways to play this theme are Procter Gamble, News Corp and Pepsi.

Also, Yacktman likes Microsoft. “We look very long-term. I would say the company is cheap and it will continue to grow.”

And he adds stay away from companies that have a lot of cyclicality. “Many are selling at high profit margins and I’m not sure that’s sustainable.”

Yacktman’s assets under management total more than $17 billion.
