Chesapeake Energy

The catalyst:Chesapeake said it would cut compensation for directors by about 20 percent, and also eliminate the use of fractionally owned aircraft for personal travel by outside directors.

The trade: I have no interest in this stock, says Joe Terranova. If you think nat gas has troughed I’d play it long UPL.

Kansas City Southern

The catalyst:Kansas City Southern said it expects strong long-term growth from "near-sourcing," a trend underway in which companies move manufacturing plants to Mexico from Asia.

The trade: “If you think the S&P is on its way to 1325 as I do, then there should be another few dollar of upside in Kansas City Southern.

General Motors

The catalyst:GM said it would not advertise during next season’s Super Bowl game because it can’t justify the increased price of ads.

The trade: I think investors should look at this development as sign the company is acting responsibly, says trader Mike Murphy. I think it’s getting interesting.

Manpower

The catalyst: Although there’s no clear catalyst, with the stock down almost 20% over the past month, investors may be betting it’s due for a bounce.

The trade: You’ve got to like the way it’s moving, says Jon Najarian.
