Sneak Peek: Apple’s New Mobile OS

The Street’s buzzing about Apple and what they’re going to unveil at the worldwide developers conference next week.

According to Jonathan Geller, the founder of Boy Genius Report, Apple is ‘absolutely’ going to be announcing a new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 6.

And Geller thinks it could be quite an evolution over what exists now. “From what I’ve seen it’s very interesting. They’re going head to head with Android.”

Following is a list of features he says the new operating system will have:

Boy Genius' Predictions

- Cleaner look
- Automatic app updates
- New Maps app with 3D mapping
- iCloud keychain that syncs w/iOS devices
- Facebook integration at OS-level
- Siri for iPad & extended Siri functions
- Inter-app communication
- Improved email

Although the Fast Money traders aren’t sure the new operating system is a specific catalyst, largely they all think Apple has more upside and consider the stock inexpensive.

“I’m long Apple and a buyer on the pullback,” says Joe Terranova.

Pete Najarian and Guy Adami are also bullish; they cite the potential of an iPad mini, a new gadget that Topeka analyst Brian White says could be introduced as soon as September.

And they also like the price action.

“I love the way Apple trades,” says Pete Najarian. “It gets down around $555 and bounces. You've got to love that."
