Down Nearly 20% in Extended Trade, Is Groupon Oversold?

If you’re a value investor you may be looking at Groupon after shares tumbled almost 20% in the after-market.

Certainly some of Fast Money viewers were thinking the stock was oversold after shares made an all-time low due to disappointing guidance.

The company forecast third-quarter revenue in the range of $580 million to $620 million. Analysts had predicted revenue of $604 million for the current quarter.

Via Twitter viewer Nick Hodge told us, “I’d buy shares of Groupon, it’s an attractive buy at this steep discount.”

Fast Money fan Peter Ghostine added that with Groupon at an all-time low, “A short squeeze will eventually develop.”

The thesis certainly makes sense. But just because a thesis makes sense doesn’t make it right.

Fast Money traders Karen Finerman, president of Metropolitan Capital, as well as optionMonster Jon Najarian both say just because a stock price is lower doesn’t mean it’s cheap!
