1:03 P.M.: ook giving an update on iPhone. Calls it the fastest-selling phone in history. He's showing a video from the retail launch.

1:01 P.M.: Tim Cook takes the stage.

12:54 P.M.: Room is filling up. Venue seems a little smaller than Yerba Buena in San Francisco, but with a very unique, ornate style.

12:44 P.M.: We're going in.

12:42 P.M.: Apple venue is crowded. Much less space than the typical venue, and colder than usual, so people are huddled together inside. They're letting us in now.

Apple is taking the stage today to unveil a smaller iPad, dubbed the iPad mini, to compete with other smaller tablets like Google's spacer Nexus 7 and Amazon's spacer Kindle Fire HD.
