Could an Apple TV touch screen remote be on its way?
Though the possibility of an Apple TV is slim to none as far as we know for now, an Apple TV remote with a touch screen could still be on the horizon, according to 9to5mac.com.
A patent application by the iPhone maker could lead to a TV remote with Touch ID, the site reports. However, the patent uses the vague term of "sensor configured to detect a biometric characteristic of a user."

Implications for the remote, according to the report, include saving favorite channels on a TV or even for home automation applications such as changing the thermostat temperature.
A patent application, however, does not mean that Apple will actually mass produce the product.
