Are you on the hunt for a new job or career? Take a look at these franchise sectors.
Over the last year, personal services franchisees — which range from spa, senior care and personal fitness services — have seen job growth spike 12.7 percent, according to a new report from ADP, a payroll processing firm. Other franchise sectors with strong year-over-year growth include auto parts and dealers at 6.1 percent and restaurants at 5.3 percent.
Personal services also posted the largest month-over-month growth rate in March, while restaurants contributed the most jobs to total franchisee growth of any group, according to ADP data.
"Accommodations experienced a second consecutive month of solid growth in March, while restaurant employment growth bounced back to its nine-month average," Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and head of the ADP Research Institute, said in a statement. "Accelerating wage growth in the workforce may be helping to drive the gains in these two segments."
Total U.S. franchise employment grew by 22,000 in March.
Nonetheless, not all franchise sectors are doing so well. Leisure franchise jobs have contracted by 5.4 percent in the last year, while education franchisees have seen a 1.7 percent drop in total employment.
