Someone Paid $610,000 for Coffee With Apple's Tim Cook
And you thought Starbucks was expensive? Somebody is paying a lot more for a coffee date with Apple's CEO Tim Cook.
A mystery bidder is shelling out $610,000 for a meeting with Cook at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, Calif.
The auction was hosted by CharityBuzz—a New York-based for-profit company that works with nonprofits to raise money. It will get a portion of the proceeds, but most of the money will got to Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
The auction opened in April with a starting bid of $50,000 and closed Tuesday evening. Before the final bid, the highest bid of $605,000 held the top spot for some time.
The name of the winner has not been revealed, but my guess is Cook will pick up the coffee tab.
