Before 83-year-old Star Trek star George Takei was famous, he and his family were relegated to internment camps in the wake of the 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor. In this video, Takei shares a sculpture his father Takekuma Norman Takei carved from the root of a lotus tree while he was at his first internment camp, Camp Rohwer, in Arkansas.
