How corporate America is failing Black employees

Black workers continue to face significant gaps in the labor market when it comes to promotion, pay and opportunity. When looking at the many different racial gaps Black Americans face, it's estimated that $16 trillion could have been added to the economy if these gaps were closed 20 years ago, with the Black wage gap alone accounting for $2.7 trillion of that. If the current trajectory continues, McKinsey & Company estimates that it could take 95 years before Black employees reach parity at all levels in the private sector. Ryan Walker-Hartshorn, a former executive assistant to the editor-in-chief at Bon Appétit, and Rhett Lindsey, a former Facebook recruiter, share more about their experiences.
