Investors, take heed. Some of the biggest tech giants will be making headlines on Wednesday at the Code Conference.
"News, there's a lot of news. I can't tell you what it is but there is a lot of news," said Kara Swisher, co-executive editor of the technology news website Re/code. "We can get people to say things on stage that maybe they shouldn't have, and that's good for us."
From Apple's reported deal with Beats to the Comcast merger plans with Time Warner Cable, there will be plenty to talk about at the second day of the event.
On day one, Google showed off its planned self-driving car, and Microsoft introduced it's upcoming universal translation technology.
Some of the speakers for day two include Apple executives Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi,Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and Twitter CEO Dick Costolo.
A number of new company leaders will also be taking the stage.
"What's interesting is we have a lot of new CEOs. The new CEO of Intel, the new CEO of Microsoft [who spoke Tuesday], the new CEO of Blackberry, the new CEO of Qualcomm," Swisher said. "All of these guys will be talking about new leadership in these companies, in these critical companies for the Internet and for media."
Swisher and Re/code co-executive editor Walt Mossberg will also be interviewing a few guests who aren't usually associated with the tech scene, including Wal-Mart CEO Doug McMillon.
"We've had a long tradition of bringing people who aren't what you would think of as the center of tech," Mossberg said. "Tech just doesn't run in a narrow channel. It's a big roaring river that takes in all culture and we're intensely interested in that."
Wal-Mart, one of the biggest buyers of technology, understood early on that it could leverage technology to run its massive retail operation, Swisher said. However, the company is facing challenges in e-commerce, primarily from Amazon, and is having to make changes to compete, she said.
"It's not just a digital conference with digital players. Everybody is affected by the digital storm," Swisher said. "So they have to figure out how to cope with it and change and grow."
