Smartwatches may be all the rage these days, but if you're having trouble parting with your favorite analog watch, you now may be able to have the best of both worlds.

The start-up Kairos Watches is working on a smart band, called the T-band, that can be attached to any luxury mechanical watch so that it doubles as a smartwatch.

"The T-band is all about having your favorite watch and transforming into a smartwatch by simply replacing the band," said Sam Yang, CEO of Kairos Watches, at the Decode Fashion conference on Tuesday.

"We believe that watches have a different feel. It's not just another gadget that you wear. When you wear a Rolex, you are making a statement about yourself. If you buy a $5,000 Rolex you don't want to just keep that in the house and wear a wearable because it has some new features."

The T-Band is designed to work with various models of watches and can do things like push email and text notifications to your watch as well as track activity and sleep. Yang also claims it will have a seven day battery life.

The company is currently taking pre-orders for the device on Indiegogo and prices range from $129 to $199 based on the model of T-Band selected.
