Live in Manhattan? Have an Amazon Prime account? Well, today is your lucky day.

Amazon will launch today Prime Now, a one-hour delivery service for a variety of items including batteries, shampoo and even books. The service will be available every day from 6 a.m. until midnight and will launch in "select areas of Manhattan," according to a company statement. The company will expand the service to other cities in 2015.

Dave Clarke, senior vice president of worldwide operations, emphasized how convenient this service will be for Prime members. "There are times when you can't make it to the store and other times when you simply don't want to go," said Clarke in a company statement.

There is a catch, though.

The company's one-hour delivery service will come with a $7.99 price tag. Nevertheless, Amazon will also offer Prime users a free, two-hour delivery service.
