Since the first day of trading in April, Etsy the marketplace for users to buy and sell unique goods, is down more than 50%.

Beyond the stock, however, the company is growing.

Etsy has more than 700 employees worldwide, many of whom who work at its headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. Sarah Starpoli, Etsy's Culture & Engagement Manager, gave "Power Lunch" a behind the scenes tour.

Inside the 104,000 square foot casual office environment, employees are encouraged to ride a bike to work, bring their dog and when they need a break from their desk, sit in one of the dozens of couches and bean bags spaced throughout the office.

Upon arrival to the Brooklyn office, guests find a front desk receptionist sitting behind what looks more like an art project than a desk. The furniture was handmade by a local Brooklyn artist.

"Sometimes if you're not in the office, you're teammates will make sure you're still around." Starpoli said referring to a cardboard cut-out of one of her colleagues.

Nearly all employees sit in an open-office environment to encourage collaboration. When the employees, hold meetings, though, they head to a conference room, which are named after "music meets food". Some of Starpoli's favorite names include. "Celine Dijon," "Broccoli Rabe," "Zombie," and "Pjork."

When it comes to perks, Etsy gives their staff free locally-sourced lunch twice a week, and for all new hires a $100 gift card to use on Etsy to decorate their desk.
