McDonald's is tripling-down on all-day breakfast.
The fast food giant revealed on Wednesday that it will be expanding its All-Day Breakfast menu to include biscuit, McMuffin and McGriddle sandwiches this September.
Currently, the majority of McDonald's locations serve either biscuit sandwiches or McMuffins during all-day breakfast. The company will now swap to one national breakfast menu that includes both sandwiches and the McGriddle.
McDonald's all-day breakfast spurred same-store-sales growth for two straight quarters, and the company promised back in April that it wouldn't rest on its laurels.
"All-day breakfast has been, clearly, a very strong catalyst for momentum," Kevin Ozan, McDonald's CFO, noted during an earnings conference call last April, explaining that for the company following its launch.
Steve Easterbrook, president and CEO of McDonald's, also said during that call that the company saw a 6 percent improvement in overall customer satisfaction year-over-year, likely the result of changes it made to its menu, and promotions such as McPick 2, which allows customers to pick two items for $5.
The Golden Arches has been actively testing new menu items and promotions since the beginning of the year — from garlic fries and bratwursts to smaller and larger Big Macs.
