An internal probe at media giant 21st Century Fox has led to more harassment allegations against Roger Ailes, and the company anticipates having to settle with some of those accusers, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing sources.

Ailes resigned from his role with Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network last month amid accusations of sexual misconduct. Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson sued him last month, and several other women have come forward since then. The number of accusers are now in the low-double digits, a source told CNBC.

21st Century Fox declined to comment to CNBC.

One reason the company may settle is that victims have three years from the time of the misconduct to sue in New York state and New York City, legal experts and people familiar with the matter told the Journal.
