Apple to announce new iPads in October: Report

Apple is planning to announce two new iPads and release its next Mac operating system on Oct. 21, The Daily Dot reports.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, the site reported that the company will hold an event that day to show off the sixth generation of iPad and the third iPad mini. Additionally, OS X Yosemite—the newest operating system for Apple's Mac computers—is expected to be released right after the event, according to the report.

The Cupertino-based company declined to comment on The Daily Dot's report.

Apple announced earlier this week that pre-orders for its newly announced iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a company record.
