"I Gotta Feeling" the wearable technology space just got a bit more crowded.
William Adams, known by his stage name will.i.am. as the founding member of the pop band The Black Eyed Peas, unveiled his very own smartwatch at Salesforce's DreamForce conference in San Francisco over the weekend.
The device, called The Puls, "is a full-fledged computer on your wrist" with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, SIM card and data plan with 3G speed, Wi-Fi, GPS and accelerometer, as well as pedometer, Adams recently told CNBC.
"This is not a band and you know it does a little bit of tech," Adams said on "Squawk Alley." "This does everything your phone or tablet would do right here on your wrist."
Adams is certainly not the first to unveil a smartwatch. Last month, Intel introduced its Basis Peak and Apple showed off the Apple Watch. Sony has its SmartWatch and Samsung recently released the Galaxy Gear S.

To Adams, though, the appeal of The Puls is that it is ergonomic. Unlike with a smartphone or tablet, those who want to "Rock That Body" in the gym, for example, don't have to worry about wires or how to fashion the device on their person.
"We didn't make this device for people to, you know, leave their phone entirely," Adams said. "We made this device for people to leave their phone where the phone should not have ever been."
