Usually you would want to dodge detours while navigating Google Maps. But don't be surprised if you find yourself evading ghosts.
In time for April Fools' Day on Wednesday, Google Maps is rolling out Pac-Maps, a version of the popular Pac-Man game, which features streets filled with pac-dots and cherries.
"Dangerous virtual beings" called Pinky, Blinky, Inky and Clyde try to guzzle you up (just like traffic) as you navigate your way through Pac-Maps.
To enjoy what Google calls the "nommin'" experience, users can go to Google Maps and click on the Pac-Man thumbnail to the bottom-left of the screen.

According to Google Maps' blog, the update is meant to let users learn how to not put a pin in their destination. "With local place information and Street View, it's easier than ever before to find where you're going but there's never been anything to let you know where *not* to go," according to the blog.
Pac-Man has mongered popularity on Google in 2010 when the tech giant used it as their homepage doodle to mark the arcade classic's 30th anniversary.
Now before you hop on to your next smart device to enter the world of Pac-Man, remember that Google has tricked its large pool of users with features like Google Magic Hand and Google Maps Pokémon Challenge right around this time of the year, according to thenextweb.com.
