Tiger Woods will compete in the Masters Tournament this year. He confirmed the news in a tweet.
Woods has suffered from back problems that most recently prompted him to withdraw from the Farmers Insurance Open in February. He had surgery on his back last year and has either withdrawn from tournaments or performed badly in them since.
Nike has long sponsored Woods.

"I'm playing in the Masters," Woods said, Friday afternoon. "I've worked a lot on my game and I'm looking forward to competing. I'm excited to get to Augusta and I appreciate everyone's support."This year marks the 20th anniversary of his first Masters start as an amateur in 1995. Woods won the most recent of his four Masters in 2005
The tournament, which Woods has won four times, starts next week. He played his first Masters 20 years ago and most recently won the event 10 years ago.
Woods practiced at the Augusta National Golf Club on Friday, according to the event's website, Masters.com.
