  • TOKYO, Oct 12- Japan's Nikkei share average slipped to its lowest close in more than two months for the second day in a row on Friday, with Softbank Corp. tumbling 17 percent after it said it was in talks to invest in U.S. firm Sprint Nextel. But losses were capped by gains in exporters gained as news of the potentially huge deal helped weaken the yen.

Goldman Sachs reduced its price target to 20,500 yen from 21,000, although it kept its' buy' rating. J.P. Morgan lowered its price objective to 15,000 yen from 16,400, but maintained its' neutral' rating.

    TOKYO, Oct 12- Japan's Nikkei average rebounded in early trade on Friday from its lowest close in more than two months, but gains were capped by a 9 percent slide in index heavyweight Fast Retailing. The Nikkei added 0.1 percent to 8,555.45, while the broader Topix. advanced 0.7 percent to 718.66.

The Nikkei dropped 0.6 percent to 8,546.78, losing ground for a third straight session, while the broader Topix.

  • Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd slipped 1.2 percent to 1,552 yen after trading as low as 1,518 yen, while Mitsubishi Estate Co Ltd eased 1.1 percent to 1,518 yen after falling as much as 1,488 yen. Yaskawa Electric Corp slipped 0.8 percent to 509 yen after J.P. Morgan lowered its price target on the electric motor maker to 575 yen from 660, citing weak market conditions.

"While we think the company is likely to lower guidance when reporting 1 H results on Oct. 17, we expect only a limited negative reaction by the stock price," J.P. Morgan said in a report.

  • KDDI Corp advanced 2.8 percent to 5,910 yen after J.P. Morgan lifted its price target on the mobile operator to 6,000 yen from 5,000, saying it expects improvement in earnings for the quarter ended September.
