Chad Could Get Reebok Johnson Name Jerseys "Cheaper"

It might be easier for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco to buy out his "C. Johnson" jerseys from Reebok, after all.

WhileI speculated on Monday that there could have been as much as 100,000 "C. Johnson" jerseys on the market that would cost Johnson $4.8 million a team source has told CNBC on Thursday afternoon that Johnson's payment in order to be able to wear and market "Ochocinco" jerseys this year is closer $700,000.

When players change their names and numbers they are forced to fulfill financial obligations to Reebok and the league, which prevents players from changing numbers at will and saddling the burden on Reebok and retailers.
