Q&A with Gregor Lawson, Fraser Smeaton and Ali Smeaton

Q: How did you get started and where did the idea come from?

We were on a fancy dress night out and a friend wore a blue all-in-one lycra suit. It was a bit baggy, and he couldn't really see out of it but the response he got was unbelievable. After trying them out ourselves we decided to start Morphsuits. We put in £ 3,000 each, worked with suppliers to improve the design and created a website.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge?

In the beginning when we were doing our old jobs and trying to get Morphsuits up and running. There were a lot of 2 a.m. finishes!

Q: What has been your biggest success?

Getting 1.25 million Facebook fans. We've been running the page for four years, it's where the brand lives and breathes and it's great fun.

Q: What was the best business advice you received when starting out?

To sub-contract parts of the business you're not good at to third parties so you can focus on the things you are good at.
