At the Golden Globes, 17 famous actors reveal their first jobs

As "La La Land," a movie every professional should see, swept the 2017 Golden Globes, some of Hollywood's biggest names shared the less-than-glamorous careers they had before making it big.

In a two-minute montage that serves as a poignant reminder that the path to success is not clearly marked, 17 stars share their first jobs in pet shops and perfumeries, on golf courses and loading docks.


1. Taraji P. Henson

Henson was a singing, dancing waitress on "The Spirit of Washington," a dinner cruise.


2. Amy Adams

Adams was a red licorice salesperson at a rodeo in Utah.


3. Benedict Cumberbatch

Cumberbatch worked in a perfumery in London.

The video ends with what sounds like a joke from De Niro. After Pratt's quip, De Niro concludes, "I was a golf boy."

Correction: Jeremy Renner worked as a paperboy. An earlier version misidentified the actor who worked the position.
