  • April 29- Network equipment maker Riverbed Technology Inc reported an 8 percent rise in quarterly revenue as U.S. telecom carriers spent more to expand and strengthen their networks. Riverbed reported net income of $3.3 million, or 2 cents per share, in the first quarter ended March 31, compared with a net loss of $8.1 million, or 5 cents per share, a year earlier.

    BOSTON, April 29- Sotheby's and its largest investor, Daniel Loeb, will open their arguments in court on Tuesday on whether the auction house should be allowed to restrict the billionaire's ownership stake, in a case that could reshape the world of shareholder activism.

  • Shares of the company, whose customers include AT&T Inc and Verizon Communications Inc, rose about 3 percent in extended trading. AT&T has estimated capital expenditure of about $21 billion for this year, while Verizon has said it expected to spend about $17 billion.
