This McLaren 720S is a one-of-a-kind low rider.
But it's not the 710-horsepower engine or the $350,000 price tag that sets it apart from the rest. It's the custom metallic-fuchsia paint job. CNBC's "Secret Lives of the Super Rich" got an exclusive look at this supercar and its show-stopping colors for an upcoming episode.
When Comfort Revolution CEO and mattress mogul Michael Fux ordered his custom McLaren, he gave a unique personal touch to its sleek exterior. He decided on an eye-popping purple, based on a flower he once saw in a garden, and appropriately named it "Fuxia."
"The color is exclusive to Michael," says McLaren CEO Michael Flewitt. "We can't use it for other customers."
The inside of the race-ready ride got the Fux treatment as well, bright-white upholstery with accents in the signature purple.
This isn't the first car that Michael has adorned with one of his custom hues, and it likely won't be the last. In fact, Fux has giant garages full of the one-of-a-kind whips.
"This is my 161st car," Fux says of the McLaren. "And every one of them is bespoke, because I like doing my own colors."
Fux is so in love with the special Fuxia paint job, that he had his new Rolls Royce Dawn commissioned in the same exact hue.
The Dawn typically starts at $335,000, but the personalized finishes brought the price tag up an extra $100,000.
"It's not about the money," Fux assures us. "It's about how beautiful the car comes out."
