If you need money quickly, a personal loan may be an option, but getting the funds the same day isn't guaranteed. Some lenders offer same-day or next-day funding to qualified borrowers, and how quickly you get your money depends on your credit, application timing, required documentation and even your bank.
The good news? There are steps you can take to make the process go as smoothly and quickly as possible. Here's how to get a same-day personal loan.
How to get a same-day personal loan
Gather the right information
When you apply for a personal loan, you'll typically need to provide information such as your name, address, Social Security number and income. You may also need to provide documents that verify your identity, income or other financial information. Requirements vary by lender, so check what you'll need before you go to apply. This goes for your co-signer, too, if you're using one. Make sure they have their information and any required documents ready.
Providing complete and accurate information the first time can help avoid delays if the lender needs to verify your application.
Keep in mind that even after a lender sends the funds, your bank may need additional time to process the deposit before the money is available in your account. Applying on or right before a weekend or a holiday can delay your same-day or next-day funding, too.
Consider lenders that offer quick funding
Many online lenders offer same-day funding or, at the very least, funding within one to three business days. Traditional banks and credit unions may take longer, particularly if they require an in-person application or send loan proceeds by check. However, some banks and credit unions also offer same-day or next-day funding.
SoFi offers same-day personal loans if your loan is approved and the loan agreement is signed by 5:30 p.m. ET on a business day. Funding amounts go up to $100,000 and there are no origination fees, no prepayment penalty fees and no late fees.
We like that SoFi has high loan caps and doesn't charge any origination fee, so borrowers get the full amount funded. The credit requirements can be stringent, however, and interest rates for weaker applicants are on the higher side.
- Loans approved for up to $100,000
- No origination fee or late fee
- Next-day funding available
- Accepts co-borrowers
- Minimum loan amount is $5,000
- High APR for fair/low credit
Fixed rates from 8.74% APR to 35.49% APR. APR reflect the 0.25% autopay interest rate discount and a 0.25% SoFi Plus interest rate discount. SoFi Platform personal loans are made either by SoFi Bank, N.A. or, Cross River Bank, a New Jersey State Chartered Commercial Bank, operating from its Delaware branch, Member FDIC, Equal Housing Lender. SoFi may receive compensation if you take out a loan originated by Cross River Bank. These rate ranges are current as of 02/23/26 and are subject to change without notice. Not all rates and amounts available in all states. See SoFi Personal Loan eligibility details at https://www.sofi.com/eligibility-criteria/#eligibility-personal. Not all applicants qualify for the lowest rate. Lowest rates reserved for the most creditworthy borrowers. Your actual rate will be within the range of rates listed above and will depend on a variety of factors, including evaluation of your credit worthiness, income, and other factors.
If you have bad credit, Avant could be a solution. It offers next-business day funding if approved by 4:30 p.m. CT, and its website states that most of its customers that receive loans have a credit score of 600 to 700.
This online lender approves borrowers with lower credit and income requirements than many competitors. We also like its speedy approval process and next-day funding, although it won't pay your creditors directly if you have a debt consolidation loan. The APR and origination fee for applicants with weak credit can be high, but the tradeoff may be worth it if you've been unable to get approved elsewhere.
- Lends to applicants with poor credit
- Funding often available next day
- Late-payment grace period of 10 days
- Origination fee of up 9.99%
- No autopay discount
- Doesn't offer direct payment to creditors for debt consolidation loans
- No co-signers or collateral

Apply early and accept your loan as soon as possible
If you want to maximize your chances of getting same-day funding, submit your application on a business day as early as possible. Some lenders have cutoff times for same-day funding, meaning you may need to accept your loan offer and sign the loan agreement by a certain time to have your funds sent that day. Always be sure to check your desired lender's cutoff times as they vary by lender, and receiving your funds the same day isn't guaranteed.
LightStream offers same-day funding if you apply on a business day, are approved, sign the agreement, provide banking information and complete verification by 2:30 p.m. ET. It offers loan amounts of up to $100,000, no origination fees, plus a Rate Beat Program where you can get .10 percentage points lower than a competitor's rate that you were approved for. (Certain exclusions apply. Read here for more details.)
We like that LightStream offers competitive APRs, no late or origination fees and long loan term options. But you can't prequalify and the loan minimum may be too high if you only need to borrow a small amount.
- Same-day funding available.
- Loan amounts up to $100,000.
- No origination fee or late fee.
- The minimum loan amount is $5,000.
- Prequalification not available.
- No option to pay your creditors directly.
Upstart stands out for considering factors beyond your credit history, such as education, and can disburse funding as soon as the next business day if you accept the loan on a weekday by 5 p.m. ET (not including weekends or holidays). For same-day funding, Upstart's website says that in September 2025, 66% of funded borrowers that signed their promissory note before 2 p.m. ET had the funds transfer initiated on the same day.
We like that Upstart considers factors besides credit score, including education, income and employment history. However, co-signers aren't accepted.
- Accept applicants with bad or no credit
- Minimum APR is lower than many competitors'
- Approves personal loans up to $75,000
- Most loans are funded the next business day
- Origination fee of 0% to 10%
- Doesn't allow co-signers or co-borrowers
