Chase celebrates the Sapphire Reserve’s 10th anniversary with new credits and a 5.5 million-point grand prize

Celebrate the Sapphire Reserve turning 10 with new travel credits and an exclusive contest.

Share

Everybody, get your confetti ready; the Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) is turning 10 years old.

The Sapphire Reserve has been one of the top premium travel cards since it was released in 2016, and as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, the card is adding new travel credits, increased DoorDash perks and the opportunity to win up to 5.5 million Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The other nine finalists will earn 500,000 points each, meaning Chase is giving away a total of 10 million Ultimate Rewards points.

These perks are only available to those who had the card as of Sept. 16, 2026, but if you sign up now, you’ll be able to access future celebrations or benefits like this.

If you’re a long-time Sapphire Reserve cardholder, or someone new looking to sign up, we cover the latest additions and how you can enter the contest.

New Chase Sapphire Reserve travel offers

As part of the card’s 10th anniversary, Chase is rolling out several one-time-use travel credits tied to specific brands.

To qualify for the credits, activate any of the following offers via Chase Offers and complete payment directly with the partner by Oct. 16, 2026:

  • $125 back when you spend $500 or more on an eligible stay at IHG® Hotels & Resorts in the U.S.

Chase has a separate pool of credits that follow the same rules, but with end dates of Dec. 14, 2026:

  • $250 back when you spend $1,000 on a stay at Miraval and Alila properties that participate in World of Hyatt (U.S. only)
  • $200 back when you spend $200 on a semi-private flight with JSX
  • $125 back when you spend $500 on a premium car rental with SIXT (for eligible cardmembers as of Aug. 25, 2026)
  • $350 back when you spend $1,500 on a vacation home via Wander

Some of these credits have higher spending requirements and may be harder for the everyday or budget-savvy cardholder to utilize — namely the semi-private flight credit or vacation home credit. But if you were planning on making similar purchases soon, these credits could help you save.

Updated Sapphire Reserve DoorDash credits

The Sapphire Reserve is also updating its existing DoorDash benefits. Beginning Oct.1, the card is increasing its $5 monthly restaurant credit to $15 per month on all eligible DoorDash orders (available through Dec. 31, 2027). This is in addition to the card’s two $10 promos each month toward groceries, daily essentials and more and complimentary DashPass membership (both available through Dec. 31, 2027).

Between these three credits, you can now earn up to $35 in DoorDash credits per month.

Sapphire Reserve trip-of-a-lifetime contest

Now for the juicy part: If you’ve held the card since Sept.16, 2026, or earlier, you have the opportunity to earn up to 5.5 million Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

To enter this giveaway, Sapphire Reserve cardholders must create a fun video (up to 90 seconds) telling Chase about your favorite travel experience of the past 10 years. You must post the video to your public Instagram or TikTok account and tag @ChaseSapphire and use the hashtags #10RewardingYearsWithSapphireReserve and #Contest. You also must follow @ChaseSapphire on either Instagram and/or TikTok. Make sure you fill out the form on Chase’s site as the last step to enter.

The entry period for this contest runs from Sept. 16 through Nov. 6, so make sure you submit your entry during this period. 10 finalists will be chosen, each receiving 500,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points, an approximate retail value of $5,000. Finalists will also receive a $1,500 check to help with any additional taxes.

One grand prize winner will be given an additional 5 million Chase Ultimate Rewards points, for a total of 5.5 million points — an approximate retail value of $55,000. A Chase Travel Designer will help the winner use said points to book the trip submitted in their winning video. Similar to the runner-ups, the grand winner will also receive a $15,000 check to help with taxes.

Final thoughts

Chase continues to find ways to keep Sapphire Reserve cardholders interested in its card. While these benefits are only available to current cardholders, if you’re interested in signing up, you’ll still get the full suite of Reserve perks, like the blanket $300 travel credit and access to Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club.

Plus, applying for the card means you’ll likely be eligible the next time Chase runs a limited-time promotion.
