Three different Capital One credit cards are currently offering elevated welcome bonuses worth $300, but these offers end soon.
If you're interested in applying for the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card, Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, now would be a great time to do so — but you only have until December 8 to score a heightened bonus.
All three Capital One cards come with a $0 annual fee and earn either cash back rewards or miles. CNBC Select takes a look at these three Capital One bonuses ending soon and who is eligible.
Current Capital One welcome bonuses
These Capital One cards offer elevated welcome bonus offers, but in slightly different ways:
Capital One Savor & Capital One Quicksilver
The Capital One Savor and Capital One Quicksilver are both cash back credit cards, and they happen to feature the same bonus offers.
New cardholders can earn a limited-time welcome bonus of up to $300. This includes a $100 credit to use toward flights, stays and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel during your first cardholder year, plus a $200 cash bonus once you spend $500 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.
Capital One VentureOne
The Capital One VentureOne is considered a travel card for beginners, and its heightened welcome bonus comes in the form of miles.
New cardholders can earn up to $300 in travel bonuses. Receive a $100 credit to use toward flights, stays and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel during your first cardholder year, plus 20,000 bonus miles when you spend $500 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.
The 20,000 bonus miles are valued at 1 cent apiece when redeemed via Capital One Travel, or $200.
Are the Capital One welcome bonuses worth it?
Since all three of these Capital One card bonuses are valued at $300, aspects of the specific card beyond the welcome offer become even more important. For example, while the Quicksilver and VentureOne cards earn rewards at a flat rate, the Savor earns 3% cash back in specific categories, like grocery stores (excluding superstores like Walmart® and Target®), dining, entertainment and popular streaming services.
If you opt for the Capital One Quicksilver or Savor Rewards card, your cash back rewards can be redeemed as a statement credit, cash, gift cards or directly through Amazon or PayPal. While you can also redeem your cash rewards through Capital One Travel, the value is always the same regardless of how you choose to use your rewards.
With the Capital One VentureOne, you'll earn an unlimited 1.25X miles on every purchase and 5X miles on hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. Since the VentureOne is a travel card, it also unlocks the ability to transfer your miles to Capital One airline and hotel partners (for potentially even greater value).
Who qualifies for a Capital One welcome bonus?
While these Capital One welcome offers are geared toward new cardholders, the requirements aren't as strict as some other top cards — some of which only allow a bonus to be earned once per lifetime.
With the Capital One Savor and VentureOne, existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for the Capital One VentureOne, the Capital One Venture, or the Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months
The Capital One Quicksilver is a little more lenient, offering the bonus to everyone except those who have already received a new cardmember bonus for the same product in the past 48 months
