Singapore, 28 March, 2006 – Michael D. Eisner, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Co., has joined CNBC, the world leader in business news, as the host of a new bi-monthly primetime interview program, "Conversations with Michael Eisner."
"Conversations with Michael Eisner," will feature 60 minutes of freewheeling and probing dialogue conducted by one of the most dynamic and accomplished leaders in business. Unlike any other interview program on television, "Conversations with Michael Eisner" will focus on the importance of creativity and innovation in all pursuits, from business to politics to entertainment. Throughout his remarkable career, Eisner has been the embodiment of the true "creative executive" and, as such, will explore with, among others, other entrepreneurial leaders how to recognize, nurture and develop great ideas and fresh talent. The program will be seen worldwide on CNBC, CNBC Europe and CNBC Asia Pacific.
"I can think of no better place for my first new venture than CNBC, which itself is an innovative leader in the ever-changing media world," Eisner said. "I am very excited that in my 'circle of life,' I am returning to the same NBC studio where I was a page for the 'Tonight Show with Johnny Carson' in the 1960s.
"Conversations with Michael Eisner" will premiere on CNBC Asia Pacific, the World Leader in Business News, on Saturday, April 1 at 6 p.m. (SIN/HK).
The guests on the first program are Martha Stewart, Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corp., and technologist Bran Ferren, an individual few individuals know by name, but who provides thrills to billions of people worldwide.
In the premiere program, Martha Stewart discusses her experiences over the last year, including her incarceration, her comeback, and her recent feud with Donald Trump. She and Eisner also discuss micro-managing, Sen. Hilary Clinton and how tough it is to be a businesswoman.
In addition, Bran Ferren former Executive Vice President for Creative Technology and Research & Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, will discuss his inspiration, his experience creating attractions like the wildly popular "Tower of Terror" at Disney theme parks and his new role consulting government agencies and other companies on current technologies.
Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony, discusses his background and rise to the top job at CBS Inc, his experience running Sony -- a Japanese public company -- as an American businessman and some of Sony's new technology.
In addition to hosting the program, Eisner will serve as an Executive Producer of "Conversations with Michael Eisner."
