Sometimes The Guys Get Burned

Of course, nobody’s perfect! Click here to find out which of the recent picks didn’t quite pan out.

Guy Adami

On May 11th, The Negotiator recommended buying Genentech (DNA). He said “(With a) 27% growth rate… its a great company so it should be trading higher"

But speculation out of the ASCO conference appears to be driving down the stock. Shares of Genentech are down 3% since Adami's call

Today Guy reminds Dylan at the time of this recommendation, he also said Gilaed (GILD) and Geron (GERN) were buys. “2 out of 3 ain’t bad.” says Guy. And he admits he got it wrong with DNA.

Pete Najarian

On May 21st The Pit Boss recommended buying optionsXpress (OXPS). He said "optionsXpress is being rumored as a takeout candidate…the June options were on fire today."

Surprise! This company hasn't been taken out yet. But shares did fall after yesterday's shareholder meeting and are now down 3% since Pete Najarian's call.

Today Pete tells Dylan he was talking about the options trade. He adds the options went from .80 to $2. Now they’re back to .90 – so investors are still up. Pete still likes the trade and says stay with it.

Jeff Macke

On May 17th, The Lone Wolf recommended buying Nordstrom (JWN). He said "I'm going to talk my book, a little Nordy's.  I thought the quarter was great."

Well he may have been right on the earnings, but it seems Nordstrom has been out of fashion with investors since Macke's call, selling off about 1%.

Today Jeff says JWN is a long term hold in his book. He recommends riding it out, because the fundamentals of this company are strong.

Jon Najarian

On April 13th, The Monster recommended buying Terra (TRA). He said "Dont unload those fertilizer stocks; They’re going a lot higher…I would hold on to those stocks”

So far this fertilizer play has been kind of, well, stinky! A Citigroup downgrade of agricultural chemical stocks sent the company down 2%.

Fast Fire

Today Jon says he still likes TRA and believes the stock will trade to new highs.
