Lufthansa Not Planning a Bid for Alitalia

German airline Lufthansa is not planning any takeover bid for Italian carrier Alitalia, a Lufthansa spokesman said on Friday.

"We are not interested in Alitalia in its current condition," the spokesman told Reuters by telephone.

Asked whether Lufthansa was planning a bid, the spokesman said: "No."
