Chartology: Will Santa Come To The Street?

What’s next for gold? And is the T-bill bubble about to burst? And how about the dollar -- is the strong dollar trade over?

We hear your questions and concerns. Strategic investor Dennis Gartman author of the Gartman Letter consults the charts for some answers.

Q: Is gold set for a rebound?

A: In this chart I’m seeing lower highs and lower lows. Until the trend line is broken I think it’s a bear market in gold, answers Gartman.

Q: Will the T-bill bubble burst?

A: The bond market went sideways for a long time then broke higher. Prices are going up and yields are going down. I don’t see the trend ending until at least the start of the new administration, says Gartman.

Q: Is the strong dollar trade, over?

A: I don't see any reason to be bearish on the dollar. I wouldn't be surprised to see the dollar get stronger and the euro get dramatically weaker after the turn of the year.

Q: Will steel bounce?

A: I think this is a great trade. If you want to own stocks I recommend looking at infrastructure. And I think Nucorhe best steel maker out there.
