Pops & Drops: Boeing, Chesapeake Energy...

Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Boeing and Chesapeake Energy popped Southwest Airlines dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Boeing (BA) popped 4%. A strong of analysts upgraded the stock citing signs of recovery. - Perhaps things aren't as bad as they seem, says Karen Finerman.

Chesapeake Energy (CHK) popped 9%. Total SA, Europe’s third largest oil producer, agreed to buy a stake in some of their assets for $2.25 billion. - Big names are coming in and buying acreage, explains Pete Najarian.

China Index ETF (FXI) popped 2%. This ETF that tracks China rallied on reports the economy expanded at the fastest pace in 5 months. - I think growth in the 4th quarter could be as high as 10%, speculates Tim Seymour.

Motorola (MOT) popped 3%. Investors are growing bullish on Motorola’s Devour, an Android smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. - I think there are better names to play, says Guy Adami.

Volcano (VOLC) popped 9%. Baird upgraded the medical device to 'outperform' from 'neutral.'

Peabody Energy (BTU) popped 6%. Commodities surged higher, broadly, on Monday mostly due to dollar weakness.

Hess (HES) popped 4%. Investors bid this stock higher as the price of crude broke above $80, a previous level of resistance.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Southwest Airlines (LUV) dropped 2%. A USA Today poll said Americans were not more likely to travel in 2010, despite optimism on Wall Street.
