Toyota says it is recalling about 50,000 Sequoia sport utility vehicles from the 2003 model year to fix an unexpected slowing of the vehicle.

The problem is with the vehicle's electronic stability control.

Toyota says they have no reports of accidents or injuries.

The stability control system helps maintain traction on a vehicle. Toyota says in some case the system can activate at low speed and prevent the SUV from accelerating as quickly as the driver expects.

Owners will receive a software upgrade to fix the stability control.
