The requirements include the successful completion of the following: -- A rigorous safety assessment; -- A complete on-site hazard identification survey; -- Sustained Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) rate and Total Recordable Care (TRC) rate below the national average; -- Safety committee activities, including written notices and programs; -- Documentation that states all employees are participating in safe work training and processes; and -- Employee interviews to confirm the organization's commitment to worker safety and health.
Ultimately, the certification grants Sypris a three-year exemption from routine OSHA inspections, and puts the Company with an elite group of organizations across the country that serve as models for worksite safety and health.
