Lightning Round: BP, Citigroup, Research in Motion and More

Kansas City Southern : Cramer said flooding in Mexico will hurt this rail company. Therefore he can’t recommend the stock until KSU’s earnings estimates have been revised downward.

Citigroup : The stock has ramped so much that Cramer assumes investors will take the stock down no matter what Citi says when it reports earnings on Friday. So investors should wait until Monday to buy.

BP : “There are so many other better opportunities out there,” Cramer said, “I do not need BP.”

Research in Motion : Cramer thinks RIMM is “a dead stock.” Apple’s move into the enterprise space was the death knell for this company, he said.

IBM : Cramer said he’s expecting a good quarter from IBM, and he recommends holding this stock for the longer term.

Frontier Communications : Go with Windstream or Vodafone instead, Cramer said.

Exxon Mobil : Cramer would rather see investors in oil plays will bigger dividends than XOM. Plus, he thinks the company overpaid for XTO Energy. So this stock should be sold.

When this story published, Cramer’s charitable trust owned Apple.
