NASDAQ Loses 5% in Three Days

US stocks dropped for the third consecutive day on concerns over slow-economic growth and a weak labor market.  Among the major US indexes, the NASDAQ Composite fell the most, down 5 percent in the past three sessions, followed by the S&P 500 , with a decline of nearly 4 percent.   The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 378.8 points, or 3.5 percent, from the close on Monday, August 9.

At the current levels, the losses in the past three days are the worst since July 1 of this year, when all three benchmark-indexes were down more than 4 percent.

Within the S&P 500 sectors, technology, industrial and financial companies posted the biggest declines, down over 5 percent.  The table below contains the worst performing stocks from the worst performing sectors.
