Pops & Drops: Clorox, News Corp...

Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Clorox popped while News Corp and Renren dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Clorox (CLX) popped 3%. With a much higher than usual volume of calls trading in the options world, Street chatter again suggested the company could be a takeover target.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

News Corp (NWSA) dropped 7%. The scandal engulfing Rupert Murdoch's media empire exploded in several directions Monday, including fresh reports of phone hacking and even speculation that police had accepted bribes from Murdoch's journalists. - I wouldn't jump in, says Brian Kelly.

Renren (RENN) dropped 9%. Investors took profits after this Chinese website stock shot 40% higher in a matter of weeks, amid optimism about the future social networking. - Don't try to catch a falling knife, says Pete Najarian.

Ford (F) dropped 4%. After new data showed India car sales were slowing, perhaps investors feared that demand for autos in other Asian nations would also slow. - Around $13 I think the stock is interesting, says Guy Adami.

Cisco (CSCO) dropped 3%. Analyst Brian Marshall said the tech titan may cut about 5,000 jobs in August, which investors may have taken as another sign of Cisco’s ongoing struggles.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) dropped 3%. JMP Securities chip analyst Alex Gauna cut his rating on the company to Market Underperform from Market Perform.

General Electric (GE) dropped 3%. Perhaps the move was a technical trade with the stock trading near its 200-day average around $18.66.
